The Company

Our History
Operating in the agricultural sector for centuries, in the last three decades, the Lonardo family has focused every effort on the traditional cultivation of vines and cellar experimentation. The “Contrade di Taurasi” brand was born in 1998, whose company philosophy is based on clear and essential principles:
- Use raw materials exclusively from the company’s vineyards;
- Experiment with new agronomic and oenological techniques while respecting tradition;
- Optimize production processes to achieve a balanced relationship between price and quality;
- Use native yeasts to enhance the typical organoleptic characteristics of the wine.

The Grape Variety
The main grape variety is Aglianico, which gives rise to Irpinia Aglianico D.O.P., Taurasi D.O.C.G., and in the best vintages, Taurasi Riserva D.O.C.G. Since 2007, the company has been producing a limited number of bottles of a line consisting of two crus: Vigne d’Alto Taurasi D.O.C.G. and Coste Taurasi D.O.C.G.
A special mention goes to Grecomusc’, made from a native grape variety (Rovello Bianco) that survives in scattered vines within the Taurasi region’s vineyards.
